Milestone: Walkowski’s winning button

At left, Hope Walkowski, who recently completed her fifth grade year, accepts a prize from Liz Parks, president of RE/MAX Prime, for her winning Sequim Irrigation Festival button design.

Joining them is festival director Deon Kapetan. Walkowski won gift certificates for lunch at Applebee’s with four friends.

Walkowski said she was inspired by both the Dungeness River and Native American art for her winning design.
