Members of the Boys & Girls Club, from left, Elliana Holt, 11, Ember Handshaw, 9, and Parker-Rae Jackson, 11, help load school supplies on a Clallam Transit bus during the “Stuff the Bus” event on Aug. 11 outside the Sequim Walmart. Customers were provided supply lists for students to help with the Back to School Fair on Aug. 26 at the Sequim club.

Community members helped “Stuff the Bus” at Sequim Walmart last week, in support of the annual Back to School Fair set for 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26.

Boys & Girls Club of the Olympic Peninsula club members and staff worked alongside Rotarians to hand out school supply lists and bags last Friday so customers could purchase items for the fair. Supplies were placed on a Clallam Transit bus.

Organizers seek enough school supplies for at least 600 Sequim students this school year.

Those wishing to continue to donate can bring supplies to the Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., through Friday, Aug. 25.

Organizers said some of the most needed items, include backpacks, Ticonderoga pencils, pink pearl erasers, colored pencils (12- or 24-count), markers (10-count), highlighters, glue sticks, loose leaf notebook paper and spiral notebooks (wide- and college-ruled), composition books, graph paper, 16GB thumb drives, computer mice and 3-ring binder pencil pouches.

“Stuff the Bus” items and community donations will be distributed for free on Aug. 26 at the 11th-annual Back to School Fair at the Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., Sequim.

The event also features free lunch, vendor booths, immunizations, car seat checks and more.
