Archery event for children at grange

Mount Olympus Territory Cub Scouts will hold an archery shooting event at the Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, from 9 a.m-noon on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The event is free and open to the public.

Children ages 5 and older can participate with a signed permission slip from a parent/guardian. Registration can be done on site.

There will be bow and arrow and sling shot activities, the sling shot requires assistance from a parent/guardian.

No firearms will be used.

Range masters from the Seattle Cub Scout Council will be on hand to demonstrate and assist.

Sequim’s Buckland gets ace

Mike Buckland of Sequim got his seventh lifetime hole-in-one, recorded at The Cedars at Dungeness on Sept. 22.

Buckland used an 8-iron to drive the 143-yard hole No. 8 at The Cedars.
