Gymnastics: Sequim-PA squad earns split at final home meet

The combined Sequim and Port Angeles team earned a split in the team’s final regular meet of the season, celebrating their five seniors at the Klahhane Gymnastics Center on Jan. 27.

North Kitsap took top honors with 150.75 points, with Sequim-PA just behind with 143.29 points and Kingston in third with 52.7 points.

Sequim’s Susannah Sharp won the vault with 8.7 points, tied for first on the floor exercise with 9.4 points, and took third in both beam (8.1 points) and bars (6.8).

Sequim’s Lucy Spelker took second on beam with 8.75 points and second on vault (8,5), placed third on the floor exercise (9.2), and took fourth with 6.3 points on the bars.

Sequim’s Madison Ripley took fourth on the vault (8.35) and fifth on the floor exercise (8.0).

For Port Angeles, Maddie Adams was fifth on the floor exercise with a 7.4 points, while teammates Waverly Mead (8.3) and Ryan Deleon (7.5) earned top-10 finished on the vault.

The team now moves on to the postseason, prepping for the sub-district meet on Thursday, Feb. 8, in Olympia.
