Lavender Weekend opens with farms, food, and more across Sequim

Sequim Gazette photo by Matthew Nash/ Sequim Lavender Festival leaders opened its festivities in Carrie Blake Community Park with a ribbon cutting on July 19 in conjunction with the Sequim-Dungeness Valley Chamber of Commerce. Sequim Lavender Weekend, which includes the Lavender Festival, goes through Sunday, July 21, and features live music, food, activities, events and farms throughout the area.

Lavender lovers can find plenty of the plant throughout Sequim for Sequim Lavender Weekend, on July 19-21, and throughout the summer.

The Sequim Lavender Festival gathers in Carrie Blake Community Park this weekend with music, 140-plus vendors, and activities.

Nearly 20 farms are open with lavender U-pick, products and more too. See a full list of activities, events and farms here.

While Sequim has a few fish passage construction projects in-process, Doug Adamson, a spokesperson for Washington State Department of Transportation, said “it’s important to note that construction will not have a major impact for people attending (for the weekend).”

“We do, however, see heavy traffic as people head to the various venues,” he said.
