“Last Stand: Saving the Elwha River’s Legacy Forest” took home Best Environmental Film at the World Film Festival In Cannes in June.

The film, with cinematography by local photographer/videographer John Gussman, features the work of the Elwha Legacy Forests coalition to stop the “Power Plant” timber sale and protect the Elwha River Watershed.

“Last Stand” also won a best short film award in the Environmental Film & Screenplay Festival and is an official selection for 10 film festivals so far, including Port Townsend and Gig Harbor.
