Sophia Engkvist helps lead events in September that look to use sound as medicine.

Heather Sky and Sophia Engkvist invite community members to join them in a series of “transformative” sessions integrating the power of meditation, breath work and sound healing to help access “a multitude of physiological and psychological benefits.”

The Magic of Breath + Sound is a two-hour event consisting of a short meditation, 45 minutes of breath work, 30 minutes of sound therapy, and a sharing circle to process and integrate at the end of the session.

Remaining sessions are slated for 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. on Sundays: Sept. 22, Oct. 20, Nov. 17 and Dec. 22, at Blue Mountain Yoga+, 803 Carlsborg Road, Suite D.

Cost is $44 per person. Contact Engkvist at 360-460-7455 or Songfire@olympus.net for more information or to register.

Autumn Equinox event

Also on Sunday, Sept. 22, Engkvist hosts an Autumn Equinox Earth Blessing Sound Bath, set for 3-4:40 p.m. at Blue Mountain Yoga+.

Experience “magical” vibrations and “feel balanced, grounded, peaceful, renewed,” organizers note. Cost is $33 at the door.
