Garden club hosts May for March meeting
Sequim Prairie Garden Club will hold its monthly meeting at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St.,at 10 a.m. Monday, March 3 with gardening expert Andrew May speaking at 10:30 a.m.
May will share a gardening surprise with participants that will be helpful advice for their gardens.
Club members welcome the public with lunch and a business meeting held at 11:45 p.m.
“Come along and be prepared to be inspired – and learn a ton,” organizers said.

Five Acre School shred event set
The Parent Service Organization at Five Acre School is organizing another shred event for the community, offering a safe and secure way to dispose of unwanted papers.
Five Acre School invites the community to bring their bags and boxes of documents to the LeMay Mobile Shredding Truck located at the old JCPenny parking lot, 651 W. Washington St., from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 22.
Volunteers will be on site to help unload materials and to collect donations.
Suggested donation is $20, or more for large quantities of materials.
All funds benefit the Five Acre School’s Tuition Assistance fund.
Dems hosting Wolfe
Darryl Wolfe, CEO of Olympic Medical Center, will discuss the Board of Commissioners’ exploration of a strategic partnership “that could help support, sustain, and improve access to locally available high-quality affordable care in Clallam County” during a forum sponsored by Clallam County Democrats this evening.
A question-and-answer period will follow.
The forum will take place from 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26 at the Democratic Party’s headquarters at 124 W. First St. A in Port Angeles.
Serving veterans
The Disabled American Veterans Chapter 5 office located at the Sequim Museum administration building, 544 N. Sequim Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Wednesday to serve all veterans with claims and information.
Veterans do not have to be a member of the DAV to receive assistance.
