Eighth Annual Sequim Prairie Nights held Aug. 9

The 8th annual Sequim Prairie Nights Car Show rolled into town Saturday, Aug. 9, offering the public a chance to inspect and admire street rods, hot rods, classics, muscle cars, trucks and vintage motorcycles.

Sponsored by the City of Sequim, the North Peninsula Building Association, Olympic View Community Foundation and a host of local businesses, money raised supports scholarships for local students.

Last year’s event, which featured 165 vehicles, funded $1,000 scholarships for two Sequim High School students, Simon Scribner and Max Frankfurth. Scribner has set his sights on carpentry, and Frankfurth’s goal is to become an electrical lineman.

Every year, downtown merchants support the fundraising effort and, in turn, Sequim Prairie Nights organizers encourage those who come to see the vehicles to visit local shops.
