Through Sept. 30, children ages 3-12 can participate in a contest to highlight Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 5-11). Children ages 3-6 can color a firetruck and older kids can diagram escape routes for their family’s home. Here, Dash Anderson shows off his coloring skills to firefighters Libby Swanberg and Jared Kneidl. Pick up the coloring and diagram sheets at Hi-Way 101 Diner (no purchase necessary), 392 W. Washington St., or at the Sequim Gazette, 175 W. Washington St. The contest is sponsored by the Gazette, Hi-Way 101 Diner and Clallam County Fire District 3.

Children ages 3-12 can participate in a Fire Prevention Coloring Contest (ages 3-6) and a Fire Escape Plan (7-12) contest through September 30 at Hi-Way 101 Diner, 392 W. Washington St. Winners will be drawn Sept. 30 and will receive a firefighter action figure and a Junior Assistant Fire Chief certificate in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 5-11.

The contest is a partnership between Clallam County Fire District 3, the Sequim Gazette, and Hi-Way 101 Diner.
