Anarchy and chaos
The following quote deals with the topic of illegal immigrants:
“They’re all illegal aliens, and whether innocent or guilty of the crime they are charged with in court, they’re still here illegally and they should be sent out of the country.” — President Bill Clinton, May 6, 1995.
If you are not a President Clinton fan, let’s look at deportation activity under President Obama. He deported about 5.3 million persons.
Trump, in his first term, deported 2 million, and so far in his second term about 620,000.
The problem with Trump is that he is … Trump. I am no fan of his immature way of speaking rudely about people, but if you can get past that, you can see that all he is doing is enforcing the law.
I agree with critics of some ICE tactics.
There ought to be a way of getting the vast number of law-abiding illegals (is that an oxymoron?) to self-report, stay here, keep their family intact, get vetted, and become citizens.
That is a compromising middle ground, with the spirit of the immigration laws being honored.
The killing of the woman in Minneapolis is tragic. But, even assuming that the officer acted wrongly or even criminally, let’s ask this: If the fictional town of “Wally” has 100,000 residents, according to averages it probably has about 230 police officers. If one of those officers does some terrible thing, does that mean you disband the police force of Wally? No rational person would think so.
If a country does not enforce its laws, it may as well not have them, and the result is just anarchy and chaos.
We seem to be getting closer to that.
So much so, and it is so pervasive, that when one dares to enforce the law, he is made to be the villain, not the lawbreaker.
