The YMCA of Sequim has announced the promotions of several of its staff.
Cort Mao, formerly group exercise coordinator, is now branch operations manager. Mao has worked in a variety of roles at the Y including personal trainer and lifeguard. He was chosen for the leadership role based on his professional and military background.
Riley Tadlock, formerly lead lifeguard, is now the Y’s lifeguard coordinator. Tadlock has worked his way through the lifeguard profession since starting at the Y in October 2022, when he was attending Sequim High School. He has been teaching the Y’s Lifeguard Certification Course over the past year and is a certified wildland firefighter.
Rylee Carr, who has grown up as a Y member, became a lifeguard as soon as she was old enough to enroll in the certification program, in August 2022. Since then, she has become a lifeguard instructor and swim lesson instructor. Carr, who has received her EMT certification through Peninsula College, has accepted the position of swim lessons coordinator.
Tiffany Barnett, who has been at the Y since May 2022 and was formerly a program coordinator for the Youth Development programs, is now an administrative specialist with the Y’s association office supporting many finance and HR duties.
