Lions’ crab and auction event
The Sequim Valley Lions’ 12th annual crab and auction event is set for 1-5 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at Pioneer Memorial Park, 387 E. Washington St. The organization has partnered with the Clallam County Master Gardeners Foundation, holding the event on the same day as the annual Petals & Pathways garden tour.
The park is closed to parking, but parking is available across the street and to the east.
Dinner includes fresh, local Dungeness crab (cooked onsite), corn, coleslaw, rolls and soda or bottled water. Pizza from Westside Pizza will be sold by the slice. Beer and wine will be available.
A whole crab dinner is $45, a half-crab dinner is $30. The silent auction starts at noon. Live music will be provided by “Dawn & Steve” from 2-4 p.m.
Proceeds will fund programs that provide support and help to the Sequim community, such as addressing sight or hearing needs, constructing wheelchair ramps, distributing scholarships and sponsoring hearing and vision screenings in schools. The Sequim Valley Lions contribute to several local nonprofits and members assist at the Sequim Food Bank.
The Sequim Valley Lions meet at 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. For more information, visit

Barks and Blooms event
Rise Rescue Alliance, a nonprofit dedicated to the training and rehabilitation of rescue dogs, invites the community to Barks and Blooms, a dog adoption event on Saturday, June 28, featuring live music, refreshments, raffles, prizes and more.
The free, family-friendly event will be from 1-5 p.m. at Purple Haze Lavender Farm, 180 Bell Bottom Road.
Live music will be provided by local band JFA (Just Foolin’ Around). Wine and food will be available for purchase. Attendees will be able to meet adoptable dogs in training.
“This is not your average dog adoption event,” Rise Rescue Alliance founder Meagan Karnes said in a press release. “It’s a celebration of resilience, community, and second chances — all set on one of the most beautiful lavender farms in the area.”
While the event is free to attend, pre-registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited. Please register online at riserescue.org.
