Sequim Gazette staff

The Sequim High School Equestrians continued their strong start to the season with top finishes at the second District 4 meet, held in Tacoma Feb. 25-27.

Senior Clara Duncan, the state champion in pole bending, broke the District 4 record in the event with a time of 21.866 seconds. Along with her horse Spatz she’s placed first at both district meets this season.

Duncan, Shannon Robbins, Sasha O’Meara, Eilena Sharpe and Anne Meek each placed in the top 10 in overall events out of more than 90 riders at the meet.

Robbins, a senior and team captain, joined O’Meara, Sharpe, Meek and Carley Lundgren in taking first in the in-hand obstacle relay event, qualifying for state.
