SHS Wolves football kicks off Aug. 17

The season is still a few weeks away but Sequim High School football gears up for turnout in just a few days.

All players turning out for SHS’s 2016 football squad need to turn in physicals and turn in their sports paperwork to the SHS office (601 N. Sequim Ave.) in preparation for the first day of practice, set for Wednesday, Aug. 17.

The team issues gear and has a meeting at 1 p.m. that day, with practice slated for 3-5:30 p.m. Only players who have paperwork turned in will receive gear, coaches say, and only those with both yellow and white cards completed will practice.

The first game of the season is Sept. 2 at Port Townsend, with the first home game set for Sept. 9 versus Montesano. Both games are at 7 p.m.
