Published 1:56 pm Wednesday, March 19, 2014

Dec. 7 marks KSQM’s one-year anniversary. The volunteer-run Sequim radio station at 91.5 FM is holding a “raining cats and dogs” pledge drive to celebrate from Friday-Sunday, Dec. 4-6.

Activities include speakers sharing animal care advice, “howl-with-joy” music and a fun election. A representative from Peninsula Friends of Animals will answer phones from 1-5 p.m. Friday.

From 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, the Adoption Wagon from the Olympic Peninsula Humane Society will be at the station, 577-C W. Washington St., and adoptable dogs from Welfare for Animals Guild will visit from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday.

Monday is the station’s one-year anniversary and Pearl Harbor Day. The station will play melodies to warm the hearts of veterans and there will be an open house to celebrate the commemoration.

A Heritage Circle of Friends is being compiled of

Sequim’s first radio station’s founding supporters, those who have donated to KSQM from its first broadcast on Dec. 7, 2008, through Dec. 31, 2009.

Donations can be made by calling 681-0000, mailing them to KSQM, P.O. Box 723, Sequim, WA 98382 or through its Web site at ksqmfm.com.
