Sequim’s swimmers are headed to the West Central District meet, held Nov. 4-6 at Hazen High School in Renton, after posting strong marks during the season and at the Olympic League meet last week.
Sequim’s quartet of Rachel Hardy, Rachel Hughes, Cassandra Calderon and Gianna Vennetti have qualified in both 200 medley and 200 freestyle relays.
Hardy, a senior, also has qualified in the 50 and 100 freestyle events, while Vennetti, also a senior, has qualified in the 50 free and 100 butterfly events.
Sequim coach Susan Craig said she hopes to see Calderon (200 individual medley) and Hughes (100 butterfly) gain district entries by way of a wild card.
Sequim swimmers compete in preliminaries on Nov. 4, aiming to qualify for finals on Nov. 6.
The class 2A state meet is scheduled for Nov. 11-13 at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
