Generation Gap wins ‘North Pole’ tourney

The Seattle-based Generation Gap coed volleyball squad edged six other squads to win the "A" division at the first North Pole Coed Volleyball Tournament on Dec. 6 at Port Angeles High School.
Sequim’s Brian Marts joined son Kevin Marts and teammates Matt Ceicester, Callie Wessen, Cassie Noel and Donna Frisk to take the win.
Second place in the "A" division went to the Port Townsend-based team Spike en Z Doich; team members are Port Angeles’ Jennie Webber Heilman and P.T.’s Jeremiah Riel, Dakota Gemmer, Nettie Witheridge, Madison Laughbon and Zane Laughbon. Third place went to Ho Ho Ho, a team of Sequim, Port Angeles and Bremerton teammates: Michelle and Eric Palenik, Sean Oden, Alec Schmidt, Christine Halberg, Jennifer Reynolds and Rebecca Arthur.
The "B" division champions were Balls Deep from Neah Bay. Team members are Alexis Birdinground, Tony Purry, Florence Dalos, Dustin Brunk, Viky Druge and Cassandra Smith.
Second place in the "B" division went to The Killers from Port Angeles. Team members are Jennifer Leishman, Sayge Wisecup, Chris Heintzelman, Jeff Buerer, Isaac LaHarne and Adriene Bowechop. Third went to Elwha.
