Seattle folk trio The Cave Singers play at the Port Angeles Library on Jan. 15.

The Seattle folk trio The Cave Singers perform at 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 15, at the Port Angeles Library, 2210 S. Peabody St.

The performance takes place during the library’s quarterly “Art Blast!” — a free reception celebrating the opening of the new “Art in the Library” show. Refreshments will be served and limited library services will be available during this special after-hours event.

Since their formation in 2007, The Cave Singers’ rustic indie folk has become a staple of the Seattle music scene. After four albums and countless shows, the band will release its fifth album, “Banshee,” in February.

The opening reception for the newest “Art in the Library” exhibit is at 6:30 p.m., immediately preceding The Cave Singers’ performance. It’s an opportune time to meet the featured artist, enjoy refreshments and view the new show featuring work by Port Angeles artist Pamela Hastings, event organizers say. The “Art in the Library” exhibit is on display through April 12.

“Art in the Library” is a collaborative art project celebrating talents of local artists through a series of rotating visual art exhibits and fun, free “Art Blast!” events. The “Art in the Library” program at the Port Angeles Library is supported by the Port Angeles Friends of the Library.
