Bounty on the bus

ASB officers and top food donors from Sequim Middle School begin to unload more than 6,000 pounds of food for the Sequim Food Bank. Sequim Middle School’s annual food challenge brought in 6,124 pounds of goods for the Sequim Food Bank. ASB officers and the top group of contributors loaded and unloaded a school bus filled with food on March 28. The winning team of sixth-graders — Mathew Craig, John Edson, Liam Harris, Abe Mitchell and Ian Miller — brought in the most with 1,854.5 pounds of food. They won a free lunch. Meredith Johnson’s science class brought in just over 4,090 pounds of food as overall winners. Tracy Barnes’ leadership class, Sue Brown’s special needs, Richard Miko’s math class and Bryan Smelcer’s science class won an ice cream party for bringing in the most food for their hallways.
