Bunny Breakfast at Boys & Girls club
The Sequim Boys & Girls Club, 400 W. Fir St., is hosting a Bunny Breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the club. Take photos with the Easter Bunny and enjoy face painting, Easter egg hunts, games, crafts and club members’ performances.
Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, scrambled eggs, juice and coffee for $5 per person. Tickets are available at The Boys & Girls Clubs in Sequim and Port Angeles, online a www.bgc-op.org or at the door.
County commissioner sets town hall
Jim McEntire, Clallam County commissioner, is to host a town hall meeting at the Sequim Library (630 N. Sequim Ave.), set for 4 p.m., Friday, April 3. The meeting is intended to provide Clallam County District 1 citizens with an opportunity to provide McEntire with input, ideas and concerns.
No agenda is available, but instead the informal meeting is open to anyone that wants to come and talk about “whatever is on their mind,” McEntire said.

Charter Review picks Corson for appointment
The Charter Review Commission voted unanimously at its March 11 meeting to appoint Don Corson to fill a vacant position due to a resignation. Corson was sworn in on March 16 to serve as the fifth District III commissioner.
Cheryl Williams, who was elected to the position in November 2014, resigned citing personal reasons, county officials said last week.
New in town?
If you are new to Sequim or considering relocating to Sequim, the “New in Town Conversation” gathering has been designed for you. The monthly event is from 3-5 p.m. each fourth Wednesday every other month at First Federal, 333 N. Sequim Ave., Sequim. The next is March 25.
Other dates this year are May 27, July 22, Sept. 23 and Nov. 18. Meet other newcomers, learn more about the history of Sequim, volunteering opportunities and about how to handle the stresses and strains of relocation.

Sequim Prairie Grange plans dessert auction
Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, will hold a “Pies for March of Dimes” social Wednesday, March 25.
The evening begins with a potluck dinner at 6:30 p.m. followed by a pie and dessert auction. Slices of pie also will be offered for donations. Proceeds go to the March of Dimes. Attendees are asked to bring something for the dinner and, if so inclined, pie or dessert for the auction.
Vietnam vets saluted
The first event to be held in the newly remodeled Clallam County Veterans Center, 216 S. Francis St., Port Angeles, will be Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day on Saturday, March 28.
This event will have a coffee social for all veterans starting at 11:30 a.m., a ceremony beginning at 1 p.m. followed by a luncheon for all attending.

Genealogy class set
A “How to research your genealogy” class will be offered from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 28, during the Clallam County Genealogy Research Center’s open house. The monthly Saturday open house hours are noon-4 p.m.
The public is invited to use the library and ask questions. A $5 donation covers materials. The center is at 402 E. Lauridsen Blvd., Port Angeles. Hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Call 417-5000.
EAA meeting on tap
EAA Chapter 430 hosts a presentation by Kirk Klienholz of Dynon Avionics at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, in Hangar 15, Sequim Valley Airport. He will discuss the current state of affairs on its products, new features, new optional hardware.
American Red Cross seeking volunteers

Scouts offering lawn aeration for fundraiser
As a fundraiser, Sequim Boy Scout Troop 1498 offers lawn aeration services Saturday-Sunday, April 11-12. Cost is $50 for up to one-quarter acre. Owners need not be home for the service but need to have lawns mowed, underground sprinkler heads marked and dog waste picked up. Make checks payable to: Boy Scout Troop 1498.

Sequim group to talk mental health
Sequim Great Decisions Discussion Group will meet from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, April 3, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. The topic is “Darkness Invisible – The Hidden Global Costs of Mental Illness.” The suggested background reading for the discussion is the article, “Darkness Invisible,” from the January/February edition of “Foreign Affairs” published by the Council on Foreign Relations. Sequim Rainbow girls seek donations
Sequim Rainbow Assembly girls see a need to help special children with physical challenges get the chance to enjoy playing at a park. They are raising money to purchase a JennSwing and two replacement 5-point safety harnesses for Carrie Blake Park, costing about $750.
Port Angeles has a similar swing, but Sequim does not, so the girls are very enthused to work to purchase this swing. Any help toward this project is appreciated and any donations are tax deductible as Rainbow is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
Recycle CF bulbs
Washington residents can now recycle fluorescent lights and other mercury-containing lights for free at 130 sites throughout the state, with more being added in the months ahead.
LightRecycle Washington collection sites will take traditional fluorescent tubes (including straight, curved and circular tubes), the twisty compact fluorescent lights and high intensity discharge lights, which are commonly used in outdoor lighting fixtures.
The program does not accept lighting fixtures or ballasts. Both individuals and businesses can drop off lights for recycling, although there is a limit of 10 lights per day.
