The North Olympic Library System presents TEDxSequimLibrary, an independently organized TED Talks event, at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the Sequim Library meeting room, 630 N. Sequim Ave.
This free event features four thought-provoking talks that will explore the sea, air and earth.
The evening’s talks will feature artist Janet Echelman, “Taking imagination seriously”; conservation photographer Thomas Peschak, “Dive into an ocean photographer’s world”; ocean scientist Laura Robinson, “The secrets I find on the mysterious ocean floor” and author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, “The danger of a single story.”
TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers. Many of these talks are given at TED’s annual conference in Vancouver, British Columbia, and made available free on TED.com.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience.
At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection.
