Meet photographer at Nourish
A free reception for Kelly Lenihan is set for 4-6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Nourish restaurant, 101 Provence View Lane. Lenihan, a photographer, is the featured artist for the months of November and December. Call 797-1480 or see www.nourishsequim.com.
Book club gathers
“The Samurai’s Garden” by Gail Tsukiyama will be discussed at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Sequim Library, 630 N. Sequim Ave. Copies of the novel are available at the Sequim Library in various formats, including regular print and audiobook on CD, and can be requested online by visiting the library catalog at www.nols.org. All are welcome to drop in and participate.
Musicale group meets
Port Angeles Monday Musicale meets at noon on Monday, Nov. 16, at the Queen of Angels Fellowship Hall, 209 W. 11th St., Port Angeles. The luncheon meeting is followed by 1 p.m. entertainment and is open to the public. Entertainment is free and for all ages. Beatles tribute show planned
The Juan de Fuca Foundation presents “BritBeat – A Multi-media Concert Journey Through the Beatles Music History,” at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Port Angeles High School auditorium. BritBeat, a two-hour show, tells the story of the Beatles from their early days at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, their debut on the “Ed Sullivan Show,” onward to the Sgt. Pepper era and finally the later years of Abbey Road. It features dynamic set changes and multiple costume changes. Tickets are $15-$35 and are available at jffa.org, Port Book and News (Port Angeles), and Joyful Noise Music (Sequim).
Craft fair at Trinity
More than 40 local crafters will offer their handiwork at the Christmas Lane Fair from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 S. Blake Ave. Chili, soup and pie will be available at the Holly Daze Cafe. There also will be a baked-goods table. Proceeds help finance the church’s local mission projects. Fiddlers back at Grange
The Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association will be meeting and performing on Saturday, Nov. 14, at Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim. There will be open jamming from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. An on-stage performance by WOTFA members will be from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The performance is free and open to the public with donations supporting fiddler scholarships. The WOTFA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, promoting and perpetuating the art of traditional old time fiddling and associated arts and skills.
Chorale plans seasonal concerts
The NorthWest Women’s Chorale plans a trio of winter concerts and the venues include: Dungeness Valley Lutheran Church in Sequim, 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4; Prince of Peace Lutheran in Forks, 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5; and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 7 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7. Coupled with the crowd pleasing sing-along will be an exploration of carols around the world. The chorale is led by director Joy Lingerfelt with pianist Kristin Quigley Brye. Suggested donation is $15.
PAHS presents comedies
The Port Angeles High School drama club presents “All in the Timing,” written by David Ives and directed by Kelly Lovall. This a compilation of six comedy sketches that explore time in its entire abstract, mind bending and thought provoking incarnations. Ives is the winner of the John Gassner Playwriting Award. The play will be performed on the Port Angeles High School Stage. Show times are at 7 p.m. Nov. 17-21 and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22. Ticket prices are $8 for general admission and $7 for students. Children younger than 10 are free.
