Slowpitch league opens

Sequim Softball League, a coed slowpitch league, has registration open for the 2011 summer season. Teams and players must have applications in by June 4.

Roller Derby squad hosts event

The Port Scandalous Roller Derby squad hosts “Summer Slam Her,” a roller derby competition against the Rainy City Death Drops, starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at Olympic Skate Center, 707 S. Chase St., Port Angeles.

Tickets are $10 at brownpapertickets.com and at Bada Bean Bada Bloom (1105 E. Front St., Port Angeles), or $12 at the door.

The team also hosts “Fresh Meat Boot Camp,” an orientation for roller derby prospects, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 6, at Olympic Skate Center.

SkyRidge hosts ESPN golf challenge

ESPN is searching for America’s best golf duo.

SkyRidge Golf Course, 7015 Old Olympic Highway, Sequim, hosts an ESPN National Golf Challenge tournament, a two-person better ball event, slated for June 5.

Tee times start at 8:30 a.m.

Cost is $60 per player and $15 per cart seat. Each participant receives a tee gift pack.

Fee includes a dozen Callaway balls, magazine subscription, KPs and more.

SkyRidge hosts anniversary Chapman

To celebrate the course’s eighth year, SkyRidge Golf Course (7015 Old Olympic Highway) hosts a two-person modified Chapman tournament starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 11.
