Sequim High School’s do-it-all lineman made the all-state list – again
Thomas Gallagher – all 6-feet 5-inches, 310 pounds of him – recently was named to the Associated Press’ all-state team as an honorable mention for his work on the offensive line during the fall 2009 season.

Gallagher and the Wolves went 10-2 this season, their only losses coming to a state champion (2A Lynden) and a state runner up (1A Cascade Christian).

Gallagher’s Wolves racked up an impressive 2,067 rushing yards during the season, about 172.3 per game, plus 32 rushing touchdowns.

But perhaps more impressively, he and the offensive line helped Sequim transition into a pass-first spread offense after more than a half-dozen years of a predominantly run-first attack. Sequim passed for more than 2,068 yards and 24 touchdowns, with Gallagher occupying the key left tackle position. The Wolves allowed just seven sacks this season.

As a junior last season, Gallagher was named to the all-state team as both an offensive and defensive lineman.

The SHS senior is being recruited by several division I football programs.
Lynden, the team that knocked Sequim out of the 2A playoffs, is represented quite well on the all-state 2A team, including quarterback Jordan Hastings, the 2A state player of the year.
