Seattle’s Bollywood Performance Team will be the featured act at the 13th annual Dancing for Toys event, set for 7 p.m., Dec. 5, in Peninsula College’s Pirate Union Building.
Bollywood, from the Salsa N’ Seattle Dance Studio, joins a number of Olympic Peninsula dance troupes, including Shula Azhar of Port Angeles, Port Angeles Cabaret, The PA Salsa Dancers, the Aspire Academy dancers of Sequim and the Use It Or Lose It dancers from the Port Angeles Senior Center.
The annual event fills the Pirate Union Building with a spectacular and exciting evening of dance, all to benefit children in the community. Admission is an unwrapped toy or a cash donation. The toys and cash will be donated to the Salvation Army.
“This is a tremendous event that has really grown over the years,” said Rick Ross, associate dean for student life. “This is the 13th year we’ve hosted the event here at Peninsula College. Our student leaders are partnering with Jenny Mora and the local dance community to collect thousands of dollars’ worth of toys for children.”
New this year, Sangeeta, one of the dancers from the Salsa N’ Seattle Studio, will hold a workshop at the Aspire Academy of the Performing Arts in Sequim from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Dec. 5.
Cost for the workshop is $17 and no experience is necessary.
