First clue revelead in PT Film Festival’s ‘Guess the Guest’ contest
Published 1:30 am Wednesday, June 14, 2017
The The Port Townsend Film Festival is back and with it is the annual “Guess the Guest” contest.
The festival brings a slew of top films to screens in eight theaters in Port Townsend’s walkable National Historic District, Sept. 15-17.
Each year the film festival brings a special guest; past guests have included Chris Cooper, Beau Bridges, director John Sayles, Karen Allen, Bruce Dern, Tony Curtis, Eva Marie Saint and Cloris Leachman.
Be the first to identify this year’s special guest and win a free Festival-level pass, which includes a salmon dinner and admission to all eight theaters.
Three clues will be released, one each week, in local newspapers, and on the film festival’s Facebook page. Look for the second clue on June 21, and the third on June 28. The special guest — and the winner — will be announced July 5.
The first clue is:
Ben Franklin starts our quarry’s trail
for this year’s guest, behind words’ veil
who first pursued the mighty pen
in dawning East and back again
‘til, freeway born, the Siren story
of angels lost set path to glory
whereafter, (Summer’s Love still blooms)
Cecelia, saintly, blessed the tunes.
