The Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic, Sequim’s free clinic, will hold its 13th annual Fun Walk at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, starting at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 N. Blake Ave., in Sequim.

This year the course will be a 5k Fun Walk. That is equal to 3.1 miles. Don’t worry for the folks that still only walk the 1 mile course from previous years, they still can. Also new this year, people are able to register online.

Go to the clinic’s website’s Events page for more information. Otherwise, registration ($10 per adult, free for those 12 and under) opens at 8 a.m. for individuals, families and teams who choose to walk or run the course through Carrie Blake Park, the Water Reuse Demonstration Site and a part of the Olympic Discovery Trail. All pets must be leashed on the walk.

There also will be screening for blood pressure, blood sugar and oxygen saturation. Become familiar with the AED (defibrillator). Learn about disaster preparedness — are you ready? Through the participation of various specialist departments from the Olympic Medical Center, a variety of health and wellness information and services also will be available.

The Walk and Health Fair is a fun way to support the clinic’s mission of providing continued health care access to those in need in the community.

All proceeds from the walk go to the Dungeness Valley Health and Wellness Clinic supplying urgent and chronic medical care for the uninsured and underinsured. More information about the clinic is available at www.sequimfreeclinc.org.
