Soroptimist awards scholarships

Soroptimist International of Sequim announces the recipients of its Continuing Education Scholarship awards. Qualifying recipients either graduated from Sequim High School or live within the boundaries of Sequim. Soroptimist awarded one $2,500 and four $2,000 scholarships.

Sunma Agostine received $2,500 and is enrolled at the University of Washington, working to receive her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. Deanna Kubas received $2,000 and has been accepted into the nursing program at Peninsula College. Victoria Cummins received $2,000 and is enrolled at the University of Washington majoring in business. Alexis Thill received $2,000 and is attending Cottey College in Nevada, Mo., and is majoring in psychology. Madison Morris received $2,000 and is attending Peninsula College majoring in early childhood education.

All the recipients have goals to receive their bachelor’s degrees and further their education in a master’s or doctorate program.
