Veteran Washington State University Clallam County Master Gardener Rosalie Preble will provide recommendations for selecting, planting and caring for rhododendrons and azaleas at noon on Thursday, May 10, in the county commissioners meeting room at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St., Port Angeles.
This presentation is part of the Master Gardeners’ Green Thumb Garden Tips educational series. The series is free and open to the public.
A Master Gardener since 1997, Preble will provide information that will help home gardeners choose the right plant for their landscape constraints and improve its performance by attention to the plant’s needs.
Preble presides as president of the Juan de Fuca Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society which meets in Port Angeles. She is also an associate member of the Olympic Peninsula Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society. She possesses a wealth of knowledge and experience in propagating and growing ornamental shrubs and trees, including rhododendrons and azaleas.
Preble grew up in a gardening family and has been gardening in the Sequim area for 18 years. She has served as the President of the Master Gardener Foundation of Clallam County and is a recipient of the Golden Trowel Award for her long-time achieve- ments and contributions to the Clallam County Master Gardeners.
