Candidates sought for Miss Fort Discovery

Candidates are sought for the annual “Miss Fort Discovery” contest to represent the Clallam County-based company at events, including trade shows and product promotions.
The contest was started in 2014 by Fort Discovery, Inc., to find a spokesperson to help represent the company’s new “Expedition Rifle” and other firearms-related products.
Applicants must be female, at least age 18, in good physical condition and health, able to pass a criminal background check, and be willing to travel to represent the company. Applicants may be single or married.

Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the Miss Fort Discovery Challenge set Saturday, July 28. The challenge includes product knowledge, firearms qualification and basic survival skills knowledge. (Product information and firearms/survival skills instruction are provided to applicants before the test.)
The contestant with the highest overall score from the challenge is to be crowned Miss Fort Discovery during the annual Unity of Effort celebration set Saturday, Aug. 11, at Security Services Northwest headquarters at 250 Center Park Way in Sequim. Two runner-ups will also be named.
