Navy Petty Officer 3rd Class Mike A. Miller, son of Bernice L. Massey of Sequim, along with fellow sailors and Marines aboard USS Cape St. George (CG 71), Peleliu Expeditionary Strike Group, returned from a six-month deployment to the U.S. 5th and 7th Fleet areas of operation. Miller is a 2002 graduate of Olympic High School of Bremerton and joined the Navy in September 2002.
Navy Seaman Devon L. Clark, son of Connie G. and Timothy J. Day of Port Angeles, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Clark is a 2008 graduate of Port Angeles High School.
Navy Lt. j.g. Christopher R. Karapostoles, son of Caitlin and Burton Karapostoles of Sequim, was designated a naval aviator while serving at Naval Air Station Kingsville, Texas. Karapostoles was presented with "Wings of Gold," marking the culmination of months of flight training.
He is a 2002 graduate of Sequim High School and a 2006 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md., with a Bachelor of Science degree. He joined the Navy in May 2006.
Navy Seaman recruit Michael T. Brooks, son of Tina M. Leforte of Alliance, Ohio, and Steven R. Brooks of Port Angeles, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. Brooks is a 2008 graduate of Alliance High School of Alliance, Ohio.
Navy Reserve Seaman Nicholas K. Warren, son of Connie L. Warren and Matt J. Warren of Port Angeles, completed U.S. Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill.
Warren is a 2008 graduate of Port Angeles High School.
