Margaret Miles looks on as her miniature poodle Reno leaps over an obstacle at the Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club’s agility trials on Aug. 7.

By leaps and bounds — encouraged by a few special treats — locals and visitors enjoyed some sunshine and friendly canine competition last week.

The Hurricane Ridge Kennel Club hosted dog agility trials Aug. 7-9 at Carrie Blake Park.

The club has monthly meetings on the third Wednesday of the month at the Sequim Prairie Grange.
