The Sequim City Band, an all-volunteer concert band under the direction of Tyler Benedict, announced the group’s summer 2019 “Concerts at The James” schedule last week.
Dates include:
• Sunday, June 9 – A Disney Spectacular
• Thursday, July 4 – Patriotic 4th Celebration
• Sunday, Aug. 18 – Movies, Musicals and Marches
• Sunday, Sept. 15 – American Music Timeline
All performances are free to the public and begin at 3 p.m. at The James Center for the Performing Arts, 350 N. Blake Ave. The venue is a covered open-air concert stage with a lawn setting for the audience, located in north Carrie Blake Community Park (entrance off North Blake Avenue at East Fir Street). There is parking on-site.
Because of the concert’s popularity, attendees are advised to arrive early for the Fourth of July concert.
Anyone interested in supporting the Sequim City Band and/or wishing to serve on the board are asked to contact the group via www.sequimcityband.org and use the “Contact us” email link.
The band is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization; donations are gratefully accepted, band members say.
