Jennifer Thomas

It’s been a few weeks since Sequim pianist/violinist/composer Jennifer Thomas released her Christmas album “Winter Symphony,” which debuted on top holiday and Christmas charts on Amazon and iTunes.

Now she’s readying for shows  in Atascocita, Texas, on Dec. 13 and on Dec. 14-15 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle with the Ensign Symphony and Chorus.

She recently released her first video of her original song “Alleluia” from “Winter Symphony” on YouTube with a video for “Carol of the Bells” to come soon.

Thomas said “Alleluia” features vocalist Felicia Farerre and the Ensign Chorus and most of it was filmed on the Olympic Peninsula including at the Kol Simcha Sheep Farm in Sequim.

You can find links to listen to her music, view her videoes and  and purchase her album at http://jenniferthomas.bandcamp.com and http://jenniferthomasmusic.com.

In our previous story “Her sounds of the season”  about her album, we asked her some Random Questions, which she answers here.

Question 4: What is your favorite movie?

Thomas: It changes almost on a weekly basis. “Age of Adaline” right now. I also like “Interstellar” and it was pretty good for its soundtrack by Hans Zimmer. He’s my favorite composer ever.

Bonus Question: What is your favorite album?

Thomas: I love movie soundtracks. My first soundtrack was “Batman Forever.” Two of my songs on the album come from movies — “Home Alone” (“Somewhere in My Memory”) and “Edward Scissorhands” (“The Ice Dance”).

Question 19: What is your favorite part of your job?

Thomas: That I get to be in pajamas all day while I work.

Question 35: Do you have any pets?

Thomas:  I’m allergic to cats and dogs but I love them.

Question 42: What is your best or first memory of Sequim?

Thomas: I came over for the Olympic Music Festival with my husband (Will). We sat on the grass and listened to music in Quilcene. After that we stopped in Sequim for food and went backpacking in the Olympics over a week.

Question 45: What do you like best about yourself?

Thomas: I’m usually positive person. I don’t watch the news because it’s too negative. I try not to let negative stuff ruin my day.
