Milestone: Elks honor Vig with award

Sequim High School sophomore Erin Vig was named Sequim Elks Student of the Month at a recent social night dinner meeting.

Vig was selected for her high academic achievements as well as involvement in school activities. She was born and raised in Sequim and is taking world literature, geometry, chemistry, Spanish II, floral and ceramics.

Vig’s hobbies include trap shooting, reading and watching football. Her athletic interests include soccer, cross country and softball, and she is active in FFA.

Vig’s plans are to join Running Start and attend Peninsula College next year, and after high school she plans to attend a four-year college or university to pursue a career in marine biology or as a paramedic.

Vig is the daughter of Craig and Julie Vig of Sequim.
