League of Women Voters sets candidate forums

The League of Women Voters of Clallam County has announced four free public forums to help voters become better informed about candidates and issues in the upcoming general election.
All events are free and open to the public. Audience members are encouraged to bring questions for the candidates.
Candidates for other offices who are in attendance will be invited to introduce themselves at the conclusion of the forum, after which there will be time for one-on-one, question-and-answer session with all candidates.

Upcoming forums include:
• 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at Port Angeles City Council Chambers, 321 East Fifth St. — Candidates for Fire District 2 Commissioner, Pos. 3, and Port Commissioner, District 3
• 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 2, at Port Angeles City Council Chambers — Candidates for Port Angeles School Board, Pos. 3 and 5; and Olympic Medical Center Commissioner, Pos. 1 and 2
• 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at Sequim City Council Chambers, 152 W. Cedar St. — Candidates for Fire District 3 Commissioner, Pos. 3; Sequim School Board, District 3 and at-large Pos. 5, and County Commissioner District 1
• 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Port Angeles City Council Chambers — Candidates for Port Angeles City Council, Pos. 5, 6 and 7, and speakers for and against the City of Port Angeles affordable housing sales tax
Voting dates, LWV
Ballots for the 2019 general election will be mailed on Oct. 16 and must be returned by Nov. 5. Register to vote online or check the status of your voter registration at VoteWA.gov.
