The Kids Create Art program continues to be offered at the Sequim Library in 2020.

The library hosts Kids Create Art the third Saturday of every month through April. Led by local artists, the program is recommended for ages 7 -12 and is designed to “creates fun, hands-on opportunities for children to explore various artistic media.”

All classes take place from 10:30-11:30 a.m. All materials will be provided.

Upcoming classes

• Jan. 18 — “Origami” with Sequim artist Deborah Lyles

Learn how to transform an ordinary piece of paper into something extraordinary using the ancient Japanese art of origami paper folding. Create fortune tellers, boats, animal faces and hopping frogs.

• Feb. 15 — “Self Portrait of an Artist” with Port Angeles artist Jeff Tocher

Explore anatomy and emotion through a continuous contour line self-portrait, utilizing watercolor and tempura paints.

• March 21 — “Keeping Things in Perspective” with Sequim artist Kristy Hilliker

Learn to create depth in drawings using one-point perspective.

• April 18 — “Wool Felting” with Sequim Artist Lauralee DeLuca

Use a fun felting technique to create a wool bag with an open top.
