Bellevue drops Pirate women

Bellevue proved to be a tough match-up for the first-year Pirates as the Bulldogs earned a 1-0 victory Saturday night at Civic Field.

The loss drops the Pirates five points back of the league-leading Bulldogs with six games remaining.

Peninsula got a score in the last five minutes of play on Oct. 13 to salvage a 1-1 draw against Olympic College in Bremerton.

After a scoreless first half, Rachel Hardin notched a score for the Rangers at the 49-minute mark.

It stayed 1-0 Olympic until Jackie Rodgers found the net off a free kick at 86 minutes.

Peninsula outshot Olym-pic 15-11.

Felicia Collins had a standout game in the back and Rodgers played well, Peninsula coach Kanyon Anderson said.

Peninsula is back in action Oct. 20 at Green River and Oct. 23 in Tacoma. The Pirates host Highline on Oct. 27.
