Time to ‘buck up’

Who came up with COVID-19? It originated in the Wuhan province of China, therefore it is the Wuhan Virus; let’s call a spade a spade.

I’m what you would call an old man (89 in May) and have lived through much of what is called “modern history.” So not much fazes me because it has all happened before and I’ve managed to live through it.

One should take precautions — wash your hands, stay out of crowds and if one is sick stay home — in other words, use common sense. Incidentally, I’m not going to walk around with a measuring tape to ascertain a 6-foot distance from other people, and we certainly don’t need a lot of useless talk by some commission.

Now, the stock market: In my opinion it has been a bull market since October 1929. My wife and I began investing in 1974 when the year end close of the Dow was 755 points; now, even with the latest panic it’s above 21,000 points, so if one is in for the long haul, stay in!

Buck up. This virus is not the end of humanity.
