Local group offers free IEP seminar via Zoom

Parent to Parent of Clallam County, hosted by Clallam Mosaic, is offering an Individual Education Plan (IEP) Seminar via Zoom, set for 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

Tom Steinbeck, retired Director of Special Services for Bethel Public Schools and with 30 years experience, will present the seminar. As a parent of a child with special needs, Steinbeck has also navigated the special education system from the vantage of a parent advocate.
Among items covered in the presentation: what is happening in the special needs field during the COVID-19 pandemic; the purpose of, and how to prepare for, an IEP meeting; IEP meeting obstacles; what to do after the IEP meeting, and more. There will be an opportunity to ask questions.
Parent to Parent is a national organization working to reduce isolation and empower parents and caregivers of children with special needs. Via the local chapter, get information and emotional support for parents, siblings and caregivers in Clallam County.
