The Beta Nu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma announces their April 15 grant deadline for professional educators. These are continuing education grants from the Helen Gariepy Grants for educators in Clallam and Jefferson counties.
Grants will be made available to selected educators who are working for professional improvement or development of their skills.
Any educator or paraprofessional working in a Clallam or Jefferson County school may apply. Funding is for tuition expenses not paid for from any other sources. Applications are available at betanuchapter.com or betanuchapter.com/professional-educator-grants.html.
Applications must be postmarked on or before Thursday, April 15, to be considered for this deadline.
Gariepy’s substantial bequest honors her long career as an educator in Port Angeles.
Grant managers note that funding Beta Nu has provided in the past may soon be restricted because of decreasing resources; while no timeline is known, Beta Nu representatives wish seek to make sure prospective applicants know this and don’t depend on resources that Beta Nu may or may not provide in the future.
Beta Nu, representatives say, is no longer able to give grants to individuals who have received $500 or more within 10 years of the application date.
