Sequim girls tennis remained unbeaten this Olympic League season (8-0) with big wins over East Jefferson and Klahowya last week and a shutout of North Kitsap on April 19.
The Wolves won each match in straight sets as they shut out East JeffCo 7-0 on April 14.
Kalli Wiker claimed the No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0 against Maddie Hess while Olivia Preston dispatched Juniper Cervenka 6-1, 6-3 in their No. 2 singles contest. Allie Gale added a 6-0, 6-3 victory over Myka Briggs in the No. 3 singles match.
In No. 1 doubles action, the sister tandem of McKenna and Kendall Hastings teamed to beat Sophia Arnovitz and Tiffany Bell 6-0, 6-1. Melissa Porter and Amanda Weller captured the No. 2 doubles match 6-1, 6-0 over Olivia Mattern and Katie Clark.
Sydney Sandstrom and Malory Morey knocked off Sophie Frank and Lily Morrison 6-3, 6-1 in No. 3 doubles and the No. 4 pairing of Lindsay Swanson and Jordan Hegtvedt beat Awstyn Sukert and Savannah Galloway 6-1, 6-2.
On April 16, Sequim defended their home courts with a 6-1 win over class 1A Klahowya.
Wiker, Preston and Porter each won their singles matches without losing a point, while Kendall and McKenna Hastings beat top Eagle Doubles team Ella Koeblin and Sahara Sonfi 6-0, 6-1.
Also picking up wins were partners Morey and Weller (No. 2 doubles) and Hegtvedt and Ruby Romano (No. 4 doubles).
On April 19, Sequim earned a 7-0 sweep of North Kitsap’s Vikings. Wiker, Preston and Porter repeated their feat from three days earlier with 6-0, 6-0 wins in doubles action, as did the Hastings sisters in No. 1 doubles play.
Gale and Weller won in straight sets in No. 2 doubles.
The Wolves picked up two close wins in No. 3 and No. 4 double, with Morey and Sandstrom edging Tiffany Le and Sophia Loverich 7-6 (7-5), 6-3, while Hegtvedt and Swanson won a super set 10-3 after splitting their first two sets (2-6, 6-4) with NK’s Evelyn Beers and Tyra Zetty.
