Milestone: Uraga earns OMC’s leadership award

Liz Uraga, director of Quality Support Services for Olympic Medical Center, received OMC’s Leadership Award in April.

OMC CEO Darryl Wolfe announced the award at the April monthly management team meeting.

“She demonstrates a professional, supportive, customer-oriented approach in all of her work and always strives to exceed expectations in whatever project she is leading or involved with,” OMC chief medical officer Scott Kennedy said.

“She is an excellent project leader and has greatly facilitated the flow of expert departmental information to OMC’s Quality Management Oversight Committee.”

Kennedy noted Uraga’s recent involvement in some specific initiatives, including supporting OMC’s COVID-19 pandemic response, completing required Value Based Purchasing reporting for the district, successfully navigating OMC through DNV surveys, and guiding the organization’s adoption of SmartSheet — a new business tool.

“We want to thank Liz for her excellent work to look at the big picture, to innovate, and to introduce and help launch efficient, empowering capabilities,” Kennedy said. “And for her humble and friendly — but expert — support for so many, while keeping the patient in the center of the equation as she helps lead and support all things quality at OMC.”
