Volkssport club hosts ‘Spit’ walk

The Olympic Peninsula Explorers Volkssport Club invites the public to attend the group’s annual Dungeness Spit Seasonal Walk on Saturday, June 26.

Participants can walk 5k or 10k, going by bluffs overlooking the Strait of Juan de Fuca, through verdant meadows and out on the Dungeness Spit.

The walk is rated 2-plus. Wheelchairs are not recommended. Baby joggers are OK. Pets are not allowed.

Register at 9 a.m. at Quality Food Centers, 990 E. Washington St. Walkers carpool to the parking area where they begin the walk.
