Tis’ the season in Diamond Point.

Thanks to community members, Diamond Point Road transforms into Holiday Lane each year with Christmas decorations lining the road for nearly 4 miles starting from the road’s intersection at U.S. Highway 101.

It’s a tradition that started in 2007 with Beverly and Wallace Teal after they saw a similar road in New Mexico, residents said.

The couple led the decorating efforts for three years before passing it on to current organizer Marty “Tall Elf” Hoffman, he said.

About 35 volunteers helped hang ornaments, candy canes, banners and more on Nov. 20.

Will Sullivan with Black Diamond Tree Services donated his time and bucket truck to hang bulbs and candy canes high up. Usually focused on tree damage, he said it was his first time hanging decorations from his truck.

Hoffman said they added Christmas lights to their banners along the road, and a second nutcracker. Hans and Fritz the nutcrackers sit with the Holiday Lane sign about one mile north of U.S. Highway 101, he said.

“This is truly a community effort and much appreciated by the residents and visitors for the holidays,” Hoffman said.
