Group seeks fellow singers

Peninsula Singers will conduct auditions in early January for their gala Spring Concert scheduled for the end of April.

Auditions will be held the evening of Jan. 5 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 100 N. Blake Ave. Rehearsals begin Thursday, Jan. 12, at Trinity United Methodist Church, set for 7-9 p.m.

Centerpiece for the concert will be “Requiem” by Gabriel Faure, written for mixed choir, soprano and baritone soloists and small orchestra.

The second portion of the program will feature music of renewal and celebration with “spring” themes.

Singers of all voice ranges are welcome; however, music director Dr. Jerome Wright especially needs to increase the bass and tenor sections to cover the expanded divided lower voice parts that the composer had in mind, group members said.

Singers are encouraged to contact Wright at maestro@olympus.net for more information and to schedule an audition.
