7 Cedars takes hoops title

7 Cedars Casino was simply too much for Black Diamond Electric in the championship game of the Peninsula Basketball League held Dec. 14 at Peninsula College in Port Angeles rolling to an 85-47 victory.

The league champs had four players in double figures, led by Kasey Ulin’s 21 points. Gabe Long had 18, Jim Cook scored 16 and Kyle Benedict added 15.

Former Sequim High hoops star Ryan Rutherford buried six threes to lead Black Diamond with 18, and Ben Shamp added 14.

The adult basketball league served as a fundraiser for PC Pirate men’s and women’s basketball programs.
