Flag team, band

host car wash

The Sequim High School flag team is having a car wash from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, in the Tarcisio’s Italian Place restaurant parking lot, 609 W. Washington St. Donations are accepted.

The flag team and band boosters are continuing fundraising efforts for uniforms for parades and a trip to Anaheim, Calif., for this spring’s Heritage Festival.

Students and parents wishing to participate may contact Nancy Reis at 582-3600.

honor roll

Two Sequim residents earned degrees from Western Washington University at the finish of fall quarter.

Casey William Nagler received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration – finance.

Brady Douglas Robb received a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration – marketing.

Five Sequim residents were named to the university’s honor roll for fall quarter.

They are Jon Richard Bash, Daniel Lee Brooks, Jenna Nicole Hall, Jaime Eileen Muller and Jeremy William Sodos.

To qualify for the honor roll, students must complete at least 14 graded credit hours and be in the top 10 percent of their class.

Five Acre school hosts barn dance fundraiser

"Beat the Blues Barn Dance," the 2009 Five Acre School fundraiser, is scheduled for 6-11 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Cedarfield Barn on Kitchen-Dick Road.

Music includes Deadwood Revival and the Black Diamond Fiddlers Club.

The event includes live and silent auctions and a raffle.

Tickets are $15 for adults, $5 for youths 9-16 and free for youths 8 or younger.

Proceeds go to the Five Acre School scholarships and equipment fund.
