Farm store has new manager

Kevin King has been promoted to produce manager at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness. He started working at Nash’s Farm Store in October 2014. “We are thrilled Kevin took the job,” says Farm Store manager Kia Armstrong. “He has great ideas for sourcing the best organic fruits and veggies available, and is a natural leader.”

 

Family Zumba class offered

Fit4Life Studio, 1245 W. Washington St., Sequim, now offers a one-hour Zumba class for the family. Parents and children can Zumba together with Kitty at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.

Sunshine Cafe changes summer hours

Sequim’s Sunshine Cafe, 145 W. Washington St., now opens from 7 a.m.-6 p.m. Wednesday-Sunday and closes Mondays and Tuesdays as of June 1. For more information, visit facebook.com/seqsunshinecafe.


Gym hosts free classes

Sequim Gym, 145 E. Washington St., Sequim, is offering a trio of classes in June. Classes are free and open to the public. They are as follows:

• “Easy Meals” taught by Jane Bultedalb, starting Monday, June 8, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. This will be the first in a series of five weekly classes that she will be teaching.

• “Preventing Osteoporosis taught by Lisa Pedrey, noon-1 p.m. Tuesday, June 16. Discussions will include the topics of supplementation, medication and testing.

• “Exposing the Truth About Oral-Systemic Wellness” taught by Judy Carroll, RDH, director of PerioPeak Innovations, noon-1 p.m. Saturday, June 20.


Grand re-opening at Anytime Fitness

Anytime Fitness, 10131 Old Olympic Highway, has undergone a major renovation over the past few weeks and is having a grand re-opening celebration on Tuesday, June 23. The grand re-opening will include special contests, drawings for prizes, snacks, special discounts and free mini-massage sessions. Talk on food and health at Nash’s

Dr. Ryan Iskenderian, chiropractic applied kinesiologist with Via Vita Chiropractic in Sequim, will present “You Are What You Eat” at Nash’s Farm Store, 4681 Sequim-Dungeness Way in Dungeness, at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 17.

The talk is free and open to the public. Iskenderian’s talk focuses on ways to optimize your health through nutrition, exploring how your body responds to different foods, and gaining a deeper understanding on how and why some ‘foods to avoid’ will disrupt your body’s normal functioning.
